The capital works will take place at 3B Systems, a building that has been used since 2023 as part of This is Nelson—a cultural space led by and for young people. The funding will be used to improve accessibility by adding a ramp and a lift. These changes will help make the Technology Centre at 3B Sytems in Nelson easier to access for young people and for the wider community, ensuring the space can be used by everyone.

The revenue funding will support staffing and programme delivery. This will enable the continuation and expansion of People’s Assembly events, including activities as part of the Festival of Culture. These events are a key element of This is Nelson and focus on participatory democracy and creative celebration. With additional funding, there is strong potential to reach more people and deepen engagement across local wards.
